Traveling Sunja: Episode #2

Episode #2: “Where I Live…and Stuff” is now uploaded! =D Sorry again for the long wait. It has been a mixture of lazy and of busyness, so this has been the first opportunity I’ve had to really sit down and finish it. I realize that the title is in there twice. It is past midnight and I am exhausted from a long weekend…shopping in flea markets to hunting for parfaits to eating strange new foods with my host family, I have been adventuring all over the place. WHOO!

Speaking of adventures, I got tickets to see Beauty and the Beast at the Kyoto Train Station theater (which is fancier than it sounds). It will be entirely in Japanese, and we are sitting in good seats up in the balcony. I am so excited. I realize it’s not exactly “Japanese Culture,” but come on. This is Beauty and the Beast…Japanese-edition!

On another side note, I realize that I am spending soooo much money while I am here. While I suppose that should be expected, it is kind of freaking me out. Mind you, most of that has been spent on food. Food is expensive, and thankfully I am receiving a food stipend at the end of this week…which should help a lot. I guess what I’m trying to say is you can all expect really cheap gifts from me when I get back. I love you all, but OUCH! My poor wallet. XD

    OHHH EM GEEEE

Kristin I miss you SO MUCH OMG. Thank God for the internet and technology such as video cameras! Also you crack me up terra-bad. XDDD sooo cool… I like the trash thing. And now I’m prepared (somewhat) if I ever go to Japan! Lulz…

Now we both just have to stop being busy to catch each other online. Hey, in a week is my spring break :O So I may be more flexible to wake up early or stay up late then! Yaaay!

  2. Lekkit says:

No fair! I cannot see the episode since I’m no facebook user. D:

  3. Sunja says:

@ Rask: Yaaay Spring Break! *dance* You can become completely nocturnal/early morning! And live like the Japanese.

@ Lekkit: I will attempt to post it up on YouTube…it was giving me fits the last time, so we shall see.

Sorry to disappoint but the very front row of the balcony was S section. ;_; We are a couple back. Not too far though.

  5. Sunja says:

  6. Rask says:

Yes, I’ll just tell my parents that when they complain about me sleeping all day and staying up all night. “Moooom, Daaad… I’m living like the Japaneeeeese… GOSH”

  7. Sunja says:

(actually I’m enjoying the blog and vids enough that you can count those as me gift if’n you wish)

  9. Sunja says:

Phhftshaw…….I already know what I’m getting you.

  10. Madi-sawn says:

Also: just watched le video. YOU ARE ADORABLE. I was laughing lots when you were showing us how the bed worked. Was it really late there or something? You seemed to be sneaking around and being quiet.

It seems like a pretty standard dorm-like place – except in very good condition and everything. I like that the showers have their own lights!! I don’t know why that is so awesome to me but it suuuuuuure is.

    Two things:

    1) “Sumimasen!!” That is one of the few things I really remember from Amy’s tutelage. I think I tried to teach it to you before you left. :) Hooray, I already know one half of the most important things to know in Japan!!
    2) ZOMG MR. WADDLESWORTH! That was both awesome and creepy. Yay for running out the tape.

I HAVE TO GO SHOWER NOW. I AM LE GROSS.

  11. Sunja says:

@ Madi: Teehee. ^^ Thanks! And yes, I have to be quiet in the dorms. No insulation = sound carries through walls EASY. Also, you’re right…it is very much like a regular dorm, aside from sleeping on the floor and the tatami mats and all that. lawlz. Good times.

    Mr. Waddlesworth says hello!
